Wow this brought back memories! I last visited Gib
in the early 1980’s and that that time it was still part of the UK. My uncle was employed maintaining the lighting on the airstrip. We used to go in the evenings to watch the Spanish soldiers change guard and it was hilarious – it really showed just how disciplined our armed forces are on parade! We sailed across to Estapona in Spain and on arrival had to list ourselves as crew before they would let us ashore! Much has changed judging by the lovely photos on this site but a lot was still recognisable. I have fond memories of my stay there and this is a lovely catch up – Thanks!
Where you say: Did you know:
“You can’t buy a lottery ticket in Gibraltar. Walk across to Spain and you can buy one there. Don’t forget to take some euros.”

Brilliant website, most informative and enjoyable.
Hi Jessie. I’m so glad you like the site. I have not been working on it for long and there is a lot more content I will be adding. Gibraltar is such a fascinating place, I feel its worth writing about. I did live there years ago when the border was closed and took a nostalgia trip back there last November. I hope to get over there again later this year with a good camera instead of just a mobile phone camera. I do hope you post again sometime.
Best Regards Shoaks.
